British Art Show 8
Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery and Norwich University of the Arts
24 June - 4 Sep
For the first time in its history the country’s most prestigious contemporary art exhibition, British Art Show 8, is coming to East Anglia. Hosted by Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery, Norwich University of the Arts and the Forum, it will feature over 100 works by 42 established and emerging contemporary artists. Find out more here.

Members' Show 2016

Martin Parr
First Site, Colchester
2 July – 2 Oct
Works by the acclaimed British photographer Martin Parr, spanning his forty-year career, from his early Yorkshire-based black and white photographs of rural communities through to his more recent vivid explorations into consumerism, as well as look at his ‘Boring Postcards’ collection.

Wysing Arts Centre Summercamp
2 July – 3 Sept
This summer, Wysing is hosting a series of public events that interrogate specialist research across art and music. The season starts on 2 July with the Wysing Polyphonic music festival, which explores the use of the voice, instruments and objects in an unmediated and acoustic form.
On 16 July Professor Gavin Butt of Goldsmiths, University of London will host a symposium focussing on collective creation across art, music, and theatre, between the heyday of the Polytechnic until today. A second symposium on 6 August is hosted by the artists collective Furtherfield and examines art as a commons in the age of networks and neoliberalism.  Further information on the Summercamp is available here.

Artists selected for Syllabus II – an alternative learning programme for artists

Wysing is pleased to announce that the artists selected to participate in Syllabus II are Mira Calix, Faye Claridge, Mike Harvey, E. Jackson, Nika Neelova, Tyler Mallison, Tom Smith, Dylan Spencer-Davidson, Thomas Whittle and Laura Wilson. Delivered in partnership with Eastside Projects, New Contemporaries, S1 Artspace, Spike Island and Studio Voltaire, Syllabus II is an alternative peer-led learning programme in its second year that will support ten artists across ten months.  For more information, see the press release here.
