Delivered in partnership with Eastside Projects, New Contemporaries, S1 Artspace, Spike Island and Studio Voltaire, Syllabus II is an alternative peer-led learning programme in its second year that will support ten artists across ten months.  For more information, please click

Course: Egg Tempera and India Ink practical course led by Soheila Sokhanvari
Wysing Arts Centre
8-9 April, 10.30am-5.30pm

For the first in a series of practical courses as part of our 2016 programme, Wysing Poly, Wysing studio artist Soheila Sokhanvari will teach a two-day course on egg tempera and ink painting; both integral elements of her practice. As part of the course, Sokhanvari will be joined by Dr Spike Bucklow, Senior Research Scientist at Cambridge University’s Hamilton Kerr Institute, for an introductory talk into the history and associated symbolism of these ancient techniques.

Permindar Kaur -Interlopers

UH Galleries is delighted to present a site-specific installation spanning the vast glazed front wall of the Art & Design Gallery launching a new body of work by highly regarded British artist Permindar Kaur.  Spanning three decades, Permindar’s artistic practice has consistently explored the human condition, who we are and where we belong. Her signature polar-fleece protagonists combine the innocence of cuddly toys with an underlying threat or vulnerability. More information here.
