Research and Development mentoring grants for emerging disabled artists

Applications are now open for the National Disability Arts Collection and Archive (NDACA)’s new Research and Development mentoring grants for emerging disabled artists.

NDACA, the Disability Arts Movement heritage project delivered by Shape Arts, is inviting UK-based emerging disabled artists to apply for one of four £1,000 Research and Development Grants, which include mentoring by a key artist involved in the ‘Golden Age’ of the Disability Arts Movement. Applications are open to artists working in any art form.

NDACA will provide advice and support on how to create fully accessible artwork, including subtitling audio work and providing audio description for visual work.

In addition to funding, mentoring, accessibility advice and support, the emerging artists will be profiled by and have their work promoted through NDACA’s online platforms, facilitated by Shape Arts. They will also be invited to attend an event celebrating the launch of NDACA in April 2018.

Deadline: Friday 30 June 2017.
