Speakers Announced for Family Arts Conference

More details have been announced of the Family Arts Conference on Friday March 13th at Cadogan Hall & Royal Court Theatre, London, with Early Bird tickets available now until the January 31st.
This full day of learning will explore case studies of organisations working with families in successful and innovative ways, share the results of important new research and launch the next exciting stage of the Family Arts Campaign.
Highlights from the day will include:
A selection of case studies from the arts sector and beyond which demonstrate the diverse nature of family work being presented across the country, including Dragon, a family show by Vox Motus featuring puppetry, illusion and original music which is wordless, making it completely accessible to everyone including international and deaf audiences.
The results of a national survey revealing how family friendly the arts sector is to its employees, and comparing this to other sectors. The session will involve the Family & Childcare Trust and a panel of individuals from the arts industry who will discuss the issues raised and the next steps for the arts.
Innovative examples of marketing to families, including insights from Libby Penn, Director of Business Development at Spektrix Limited.
A look at family engagement through young person led activity in a session chaired by Jessica Hepburn, Executive Director of Lyric Hammersmith, and featuring Arts Award and Ikon Gallery.
The presentation of two new significant pieces of research by Baker Richards and Staffordshire University into the pricing of family events and how to effectively communicate artistic content to families, including evidence based research and plenty of myth-busting.
A keynote from Laura Dyer, Executive Director of Arts Council England , on the funder’s perspective of the future of family arts.
A glimpse at the future of the Family Arts Campaign and opportunities for its participating organisations.
The conference will be followed by a networking drinks reception at Cadogan Hall.
Everyone attending the conference is also invited to celebrate the achievements of the past year through the Family Arts Festival Awards at a pre-conference event on the evening of Thursday 12 March.
