Museums and Galleries tax relief consultation
/The government has launched a consultation on its proposals to create a new tax credit for exhibitions along similar lines to existing tax credits for theatre productions and orchestras. Details of the consultation, which closes at the end of October can be found here.
CVAN are working with Arts Council England and other partners to support these tax changes on behalf of the sector, and urges museums and galleries located in England to engage with the consultation.
CVAN is preparing a response and would like to ask galleries and museums to contact National Coordinator Julia Bell, with any comments, observations or concerns about issues that you feel will impact on the sector beyond your own organisation. These will feed into the sector-wide response from CVAN. Organisations are also encouraged to respond independently.
The deadline for responses through to Julia Bell is 10am, Monday 10 October 2016.
Should we be successful in securing this tax relief, it will have substantial positive financial benefits to you.
