Animate Projects invites applications for DRIVE, a 10 month creative development programme for UK based artists and animators. The initiative has been developed with, and is generously supported by, Jerwood Charitable Foundation, and is also supported with public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

DRIVE offers artists working with animation support to develop professional, craft, creative (rather than technical) and business skills, through individual mentoring and group workshops. We also want to engage a wider professional and public audience with creative animation practice, through events and online documentation.

DRIVE is bespoke rather than prescriptive: facilitating access to specialist mentoring, and encouraging the cross pollination of ideas, within a challenging and supportive peer network. We want participants to gain from each other’s different experience and perspective: to share ideas and engage in a dialogue. There will be homework, targets and deadlines.

We will select up to five participants who will receive a £3,000 bursary towards their proposed project development costs plus allowances towards fees for specialist advice and towards travel and accommodation costs to attend meet ups.

The programme runs from July 2015 to March 2016.
The deadline for applications is noon, 12 June 2015.
