Looking for young people aged 13-19 to be part of the Breeze Arts Festival management team

Do you know any young people aged 13-19 who are interested in the arts?
Would they be interested in programming events for a youth arts festival?
Would they like to gain experience working on arts events?

Every year Leeds City Council runs the Breeze Arts Festival - an arts extravaganza of exhibitions and performances which showcases work by young people from Leeds.
In 2016 the Breeze Arts Festival will run from Saturday 23rd to Saturday 30th July.
As part of the management team, young people will be involved in programming events, choosing which projects to fund, help with behind-the-scenes planning and marketing of the festival, as well as helping to manage certain events. They will work with industry professionals, visit different arts organisations and meet some of the artists and performers taking part.

The project will offer young people the chance to:
• organise a young people's arts festival
• learn new skills in planning, programming, marketing, budgeting and event management
• develop their confidence, communication skills and team work
• improve their prospects for further education or work
• see loads of amazing performances and events
• make new frinds and have fun!

The sessions will run every Monday, from Monday 11th January until Monday 1st August from 4.30pm - 6pm at Leeds Town Hall (there will be a break for school holidays and bank holidays). Participants will be expected to attend and help at events during the festival itself in July.
There are limited places so we are looking for participants who will be able to commit to the whole project. If you know of any young people who would be interested in applying, please can you ask them to go to www.breezeleeds.org/breezeartsfestival and fill out the application form and return it to us by Friday 11th December. You can also request a copy of the application form from breezeartsfestival@leeds.gov.uk
