Creative and Cultural Skills have announced that their Arts Council funding for the Creative Employment Programme has been extended until March 2016.
You can read the announcement on the CCSkills blog here.
To date the programme has engaged with more than 830 employers across the country - compared to an original target of 500 - to support new job creation in all kinds of businesses, from sole traders to large arts organisations. 953 apprenticeship opportunities and 1,164 paid internships have been created by the programme so far.
The extension of their funding is fantastic news, and CVAN are working closely with CCSkills staff to support the development of more Creative Apprenticeships and Internships within the Visual Arts sector, with consortia bids being a key focus. CCSkills also have some case studies of how consortiums are accessing the fund available on the website here: www.ccskills.org.uk/cep
